I loved this chapter, it was brilliant. The way you wrote the troubles of their marriage was fantastic. I really enjoyed the interaction between Draco & Ginny too. Well done!

God Woman! I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this story...easily one of my favourites...you humour is outstanding and you got the D/G snarkiness down pat. and I love Ginny's musings.... this story is priceless. I was really disappointed to have not seen an update in a very long time, it sometimes gets annoying when you forget the link ,and then I go back and read the stuff again but I am not complaining, the story seems so fresh every single time. I hope you will update sooner, it's a request. :)

Oh joy! Joy! Joy! Joy!

An update! I thought this was going to turn out like one of those wonderfully written fics that would remain forever unfinished. ^_^

I hope you don't give up on this fic.

I just stumbled across your story and I'm really happy I read it. I really like the way you let them communicate with each other and how you treat everyone without hurting someone's feelings. Great job!

I love that Ginny doesn't just send her daughter off to frolic with Lucius. I love that her daughter is infatuated with Draco's son. I can't wait until Harry hears about that.

I just finished reading Anesthetized when I remembered this story. I remembered I missed it and it really has been a long time since you updated. Will you be continuing it?

I really liked that first chapter! Very cool stuff, nicely written. I like Ginny's narrative.

I only wish you could have described them physically...I dunno, like, when she first saw Draco again would have been a good moment to note how he had changed from the last time she'd seen him. I'm obsessed with details and descriptions, so maybe it's just me. Either way, excellent job.

"Two days after losing Lily to Hogwarts, I pulled myself out of the mini-depression I'd been wallowing in, firmly telling myself that self-pity was a luxury that I didn't need. Once upon a time, I'd been a talented witch with dreams and ambitions that extended beyond having a husband and children and a nice home. With this new resolve, I sat down to breakfast with Harry, blazing with drive."

HELLUFFASENTENCE! And I love you for it! this is the Ginny I fell in love with and the Ginny Draco loves! HELL YES!

Hmm, a gardening club...very interesting!!! It was very good. I hate Harry Potter, and he most certainly lived up to his pratish self in you story. Good job!!!

I really like the approach you took, I have a special place in my D/G loving heart for stories in which our beloved characters both face realistic emotional situations which set the wheels in motion. Most readers can sympathize if not empathize with Ginny and her lack of a real relationship with Harry. People change over time, even in the wizarding world. I am looking forward to reading the next couple chapters.

You are right; sometimes when the children leave home the parents find themselves strangers under the same roof. I think Harry and Ginny married very young, possibly after she finished her seventh year at Hogwarts. I am the closet author of many H/G fanfics (all unpublished because I keep rewriting them). "My" Harry, as a young adult, has trouble dealing with his past; abused children often do. He expects that marriage to Ginny will automatically fill the hole in his heart caused by the deaths of his parents, Sirius, and Dumbledore. But that is impossible. IMO, "your" Harry has buried his emotions so deeply over the years that he has turned into a different person. He is unable to express his feelings to Ginny, and she is no longer interested in chasing his demons away. That scene where he refused to eat dinner because it was a few minutes late was disturbing, very controlling of Harry, almost abusive. I love your story, however, I NEVER review stories I don't like. I can relate to Ginny's missing the children and feeling like she has no life without them. For years, I put my own life on hold to raise my daughter as a single parent, and now that she's an adult I have no idea what I want to do. Like Ginny, I miss the frantic pace of caring for children and at the same time well remember how exhausted I was while doing it. Once I fell asleep in the car, late one night, while waiting for my daughter to finish a drama club rehearsal. Sorry to natter on; I look forward to reading the next chapter!

fab. I love the gardening, and how you've managed to turn the absolute drivel Rowling finished her historical series with into something workable :)

You know I really can't put my finger on what's so alluring about this fic...the plot is very tame so far, it follows a very easy pace, which makes it a very nice read. Also I think their age alone makes it a bit more believable...Ginny is a much more complex character than the generic sex-starved teenager, and Draco's wit is a bit more of that, wit, than snarkiness...though when the snarkiness comes out it's still as squee worthy as ever.

Whatever the allure is, it's strong. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite stories. Can't wait for more!

I like the premise for your story, a post-DH D/G with Harry NOT being a jerk. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of it.

This story is really different from the ones I've read before and I am hoping you will write some more because I like the way how the story developes and definitely want to read more of it!

I think you have done a *very* good job incorporating all of DH into your fic--epilogue and all. And definitely a nice save with Draco's too tight of a ponytail. XD No receding hairline for him...yet.

Author's Response: Our boy will have a full head of hair until the day he dies... at least in fanon. Thank you very much for the compliment- I really wanted to do a story that was fully compliant.

Well, I thought I left a review, but it didn't show up. Well, poo. Anyway...

*hugs Ginny* The hardest thing you can ever do is walk away from something you've invest 25 years in. I admire your portrayal of this as realistic and natural, they love each other, but are not in love any longer. I also greatly appreciate you have sidestepped the cliches of adultery and spousal abuse as the reasons behind the unhappiness - sometimes people just change. I look forward to seeing how all of this will sort itself out. I actually like Harry here a teeny, tiny bit and I normally hate him so that says something about your wonderful characterizations.

Author's Response: It's a pretty mature theme, but still something I think all of us can relate to, in some form, in our own lives. Yeah- I'm pretty over the adultery/abuse factor myself at the moment.

*THUD* Did you actaully write that you don't despise Harry with a flaming passion here? ... Are you feeling well? :D That just might be the nicest thing anyone's written about one of my fics ever.

I'm so glad to see a continuing saga to that VERY disappointing epilogue in DH. I felt like throwing out the book. It's so true that people do grow apart as they get older. I look forward to your next chapter.

Author's Response: Nah- we're D/G fans! We can fix anything JKR throws at us. :) And look at it this way- at least we don't have to bring one of them back from the dead or anything.
Name: reenie reviewed Chapter 1 on Aug 05, 2007 01:14 pm
What a lovely beginning! I was hoping someone would come up with something DH compliant that I could actually buy...can't wait to see where this goes. Please update soon.

Author's Response: Thank you! The second I finished DH I began plotting a story that would adhere to everything JKR gave us.

I like this a lot. After reading the epilouge in Harry Potter, this is a great H/G reliever. Can't wait for the next chapter; please update soon! Thanks!

Author's Response: Thanks! Don't worry, JKR's "Nineteen Years Later" crap doesn't stand a chance against us D/Gers. Next chapter should go up Sunday or Monday.

What are they, 36 and 37? 20 years later right? Well... I was married at 17 for 16 years and ended not so amicably with 4 children. Now I am happily married to an old not so good friend at the time, and can tell you that there is a distinct difference being married to someone who understands that you have wants and desires in life other than sitting at home and raising children waiting for an occasional loving word or embrace. I spoke so much babytalk and rationing to his friends they were scared to come around anymore! My husband now sees me for the woman I am and I have a wonderful relationship, and I am not OLD... so don't have Dra saying at "this age" because 37 is not old at all! Luv your storys' beginning by the way!

Author's Response: I'm really honored you shared your story with me here, so thank you. I want this fic to show that life doesn't end when a relationship does, and that sometimes we're better off for letting go and moving on.

As for Draco saying "at this age", well- he's a droll guy. :) I certainly wouldn't call anyone in their thirties old.
