Charming story! I love that Ginny has kept some of her zest; Draco's still a little snarky, and Harry's not unbearable. Actually, I loved the bit when Harry's laughing about Draco being in the garden club and all that nonsense about his receding hairline. That part in the book annoyed me to no end; giving Draco a receding hairline was utterly unnecessary, and added just because JK didn't like the huge fandom crush on Draco. *snorts* Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting the kids and seeing how this all plays out.
You know, this really is a great fic that's worth continuing. I had to reread it again. I've been following Embellished's fic "in my life", which is a post-dh fic too, but of elderly!D/G. I really love that you're both making such great quality dh compliant work - the start of a new fic era!

I love the friendship developing between Draco and Ginny. I'm wondering how Harry will react if he finds out Draco has been in his home...
I loved the bit about the kiddie drawings. (Egyptian hieroglyphs indeed. I always feel so guilty when my brother hands me a drawing of his... I end up staring at it for about three minutes before finally giving up and asking him what it is I'm actually looking at.) Lucius's 'pastel beauty' had me giggling. ^.^
Once again- great job on this chapter! I'm looking forward to what else you have up your sleeve...
All this "acid" and "alkaline" soil thing made me feel like I'm back at HS.

You know, this is quite funny and out of the ordinary. I like this a lot, especially since writers really don't place D and G in the 40-ish age range. Seeing them young at heart while mature and experienced is great,
bonding over plants and hot chocolate...

This was a lovely chapter full of D/G goodness. I love how they have such an easy companionship, they have matured, they share a common experience, and he really brings out a side of her she thought was long dead. *more happy sighs*
Although I think the blissful beginning will become a little rocky as Gin breaks it to her kids about the split, but Draco will be there with advice. There is just no way around it, but in the end it's better for everyone. The kids are just going to have trust her. I can't wait to see how things play out.

I definitely love this chapter. It gives you a warm feeling deep down inside but not really going over fluffy which absolutely works for me. Draco the snarky git somehow never grew up. Hopefully we see more of him, and the wrinkly old ladies of the gardening club.
This is informative as well. No wonder some of my plants died. I just plant things never really thinking of the pH levels and stuff. :-D I have hope yet.

Second, through chapter 1-2 I thought(and feel lilke) Draco and Ginny are really really old like 50s but now knowing they are only 30s kkk.. man isn't that the most sexy age to be in love.. I hope to read about their children at next chapter. Potters and Malfoys living in the same house.. that's got a be fun..

You know I really can't put my finger on what's so alluring about this fic...the plot is very tame so far, it follows a very easy pace, which makes it a very nice read. Also I think their age alone makes it a bit more believable...Ginny is a much more complex character than the generic sex-starved teenager, and Draco's wit is a bit more of that, wit, than snarkiness...though when the snarkiness comes out it's still as squee worthy as ever.
Whatever the allure is, it's strong. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite stories. Can't wait for more!

Hmm. Draco Malfoy seems to have morphed into my mother (the Master Gardener), I think we've had more than one of those conversations up there, complete with soil samples and sarcasm, but without wand waving.
Truly, though, they seem to have an easy early friendship, Ginny looks to have a clean break from Harry, and the stage is set. I'm really looking forward to more: how the children will handle the news of the divorce, how they'll deal with Mummy dating someone else, how she'll relate to another person after being with just one for her whole life, how the pH levels will allow her roses to flourish... all good stuff.
And I love the imagined portrait of a candy cane-ish Lucius Malfoy, and his supposed response! *giggle*
