I like the premise for your story, a post-DH D/G with Harry NOT being a jerk. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of it.

This story is really different from the ones I've read before and I am hoping you will write some more because I like the way how the story developes and definitely want to read more of it!

It really is, a bloody scary monster. It scared the hell out of me. But they will make it all right, I guess.

Author's Response: It is scary, and I hope I never have to face it. But this is fic, and thus I can make everything right... if I feel like it. *winks*

Just came back to reread because I like this story so much...any chance of an update soon?

Author's Response: Aw, that's really sweet of you! Next chapter should go up tonight or tomorrow (28-29 Aug), I think.

Wonderful chapter yet again.

I feel so sorry for Harry and Ginny, because they aren't happy with each other... But I also am kind of glad for them, because they were able to talk about it and could decide on divorce in a civil manner. It's refreshing to see that a couple on the rocks can still be friends. :-)

I can only imagine how tense it will be during Christmas break with Harry and Ginny knowing they are going to end their marriage and the kids being (presumably) oblivious. Although, if Harry and Ginny's relationship has declined in such a manner, I'm sure at least one of the kids have noticed...

I really like this story. Keep on writing. :-)

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I actually feel sorry for Harry and Ginny. *gasps*
But I'm sure Draco will reappear in the next chapters and everything in my brain will go back to order. By the way, I loved that line about Draco's receding hairline being only in Harry's imagination. I can't ever forgive J.K. for writing that - as if Malfoy men could ever be bald!
Anyway, you've got a nice story going on in here, I'll be sure to follow up the next chapters.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying it so far, and believe me, you're not alone- every D/G shipper across the planet groaned at the mention of Draco's receding hairline in the epilogue. But I will not be tied down by JKR's hatred of our favorite blond. :)

Theyre getting a divorce! Im surprised I havent cried yet.

This is so beautifully written, and I think Ive said that before. I love the way everyone is characterized, and I love the way you pay attention to details.

I hope everything works out between Harry and Ginny and that their divorce is amicable. Id hate the kids (Lily, Albus Severus, James) to have horrible memories of their parents.

At least, now, we're able to have some DG action.

Wonderful!

Author's Response: Isn't it sad? *sniff* Even though it'd be the worst D/G fic ever if she didn't leave Harry, I still find myself really blue about writing it. I suppose that since most of us have had a close experience with divorce, the topic really hits home. Thank you for the wonderful, thoughtful review!

Love it. This is my favorite post-DH fic yet and I can't wait for your next update!

Author's Response: Thanks! I think the premise of this story is, for the moment at least, unique. I'm secretly tickled to have a storyline that hasn't been beaten to death yet. I'm rather attached to cliche, so this is a departure for me.

great chapter. i really like the idea of the story. i agree that jkr totally screwed us over with the harry/ginny ending. utter crap if you ask me.

Author's Response: I refuse to allow her blatant attempt to say, "Ha! If they're together after nineteen years, it's all over!" to persuade me that Ginny belongs with Harry. Consider writing this story my therapy. :)
Name: Embellished reviewed Chapter 2 on Aug 07, 2007 11:09 am
Oh, it's so sad! Even though I'm not a fan of Harry and Ginny being together, watching a relationship fall apart is still hard. Sigh. At least they are being reasonable about it. Thanks for the update!

Author's Response: It is sad, isn't it? I don't want Harry to be the bad guy, and I don't want this to be a guns-blazing war over the kids or anything. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This was a good chapter. I hope you update as soon as possible! I like this story very much!

Author's Response: Thank you! I should have the next chapter ready to go later this week.

oh my god,
you have me in tears now...
but I guess that's how life goes...

I'm looking forward to the next chapters though..
and I truly hope that Ginny finds the things she has lost

Author's Response: *pats Eova's shoulder* Don't cry; Ginny will be happy in the end.

I like that Ginny and Harry are being true to themselves. Realizing that you aren't "in love" with your spouse and breaking things off is, just as hard as if there was adultry involved. (Maybe just not as messy) I like how you've written Harry and Ginny owning up that they were both responsible for their crumbling marriage. It makes it so much more believable than pointing a finger at the other person. I can't wait to see what the next chapter brings.

Author's Response: Thank you for such a thoughtful review! I agree with you- divorce, even an amicable one, is hard and emotionally brutal. I want this fic to be as realistic in its emotions as possible, and having there be a "bad guy" just wouldn't fit in with that.
Name: spider reviewed Chapter 2 on Aug 06, 2007 05:04 pm
I really like the way you ended this chapter. Sure, I'm a DG fan, but I really do care about Harry (should I avoid any flying projectiles for saying that?), and I don't think he's a monster. I think that this was an incredibly mature and above all -- REALISTIC -- way to split the two of them so that Ginny can...move on to greener pastures...

Anyway! Really great chapter; I'm looking forward to the next.

Author's Response: Nope, there'll be no projectiles hurtling at you from my corner. ;) Are the "Harry's An Idiot" fics a blast to write sometimes? Sure, but like you said, I wanted this to be realistic. Nothing's more realistic than the fact that sometimes people fall out of love for no particular reason. I'm thrilled you like it so far. Thanks!
Name: Adelagia reviewed Chapter 2 on Aug 06, 2007 04:41 pm
Beautifully written. You have such a good grasp of the emotions that come with this kind of separation; it sucks, and no one is really at fault, but you both know it has to happen. I'm glad to see that Ginny and Harry are doing it with a lot of maturity rather than acrimony.

And also, thank you, of course, for setting all of us straight about the hairline. Receding, my foot.

Author's Response: The hairline in question, upon reading JKR's epilogue, issued a battlecry worthy of Robert Bruce and retook the ground it had lost to a blonde Brit with a pen and a Harry-worshiping complex.

While coming from a broken home certainly helps with the emotions, I think it's a pretty basic story that we all have some experience with. Sad, but true. Thanks for the lovely review.

I think you have done a *very* good job incorporating all of DH into your fic--epilogue and all. And definitely a nice save with Draco's too tight of a ponytail. XD No receding hairline for him...yet.

Author's Response: Our boy will have a full head of hair until the day he dies... at least in fanon. Thank you very much for the compliment- I really wanted to do a story that was fully compliant.
Name: CCC reviewed Chapter 2 on Aug 06, 2007 03:56 pm
Oh, so sad. Good job.

Author's Response: *passes you a kleenex* There's a good dose of angst in this fic, particularly in the first couple of chapters. I'm glad you like it so far!
Name: Rainpuddle reviewed Chapter 1 on Aug 06, 2007 02:41 pm
Well, I thought I left a review, but it didn't show up. Well, poo. Anyway...

*hugs Ginny* The hardest thing you can ever do is walk away from something you've invest 25 years in. I admire your portrayal of this as realistic and natural, they love each other, but are not in love any longer. I also greatly appreciate you have sidestepped the cliches of adultery and spousal abuse as the reasons behind the unhappiness - sometimes people just change. I look forward to seeing how all of this will sort itself out. I actually like Harry here a teeny, tiny bit and I normally hate him so that says something about your wonderful characterizations.

Author's Response: It's a pretty mature theme, but still something I think all of us can relate to, in some form, in our own lives. Yeah- I'm pretty over the adultery/abuse factor myself at the moment.

*THUD* Did you actaully write that you don't despise Harry with a flaming passion here? ... Are you feeling well? :D That just might be the nicest thing anyone's written about one of my fics ever.
Name: Lunaeyes reviewed Chapter 2 on Aug 06, 2007 01:53 pm
Again, I love this. I love that the Harry you create is real, and wants the right things. He's not the bad guy, he's not in an affair, he's in a real life situation, and it's marvelous how you portray that.

I'm looking forward to how they handle the divorce situation, and then how Draco and Ginny strike up a relationship. I'd like to see him be there for her as a friend too. Nice work.

Author's Response: Thank you; I feel there's enough fics out there that lay the problems at Harry's feet in one form or another. This story's got a little bit of my own history in it, so I really wanted the fact that some splits happen because of the little things to come out. Not every relationship ends with a flaming argument and a life-long grudge.

I think you'll be pleased with the progression of Draco and Ginny's relationship, and I can't say more than that without giving it all away.

It's really really good. I think they're being very mature (well.. mostly) and I enjoyed getting the first peek. ;)

Author's Response: You're just being sweet because you got to read it first. *winks* Buttering me up for the next chapter, huh?
