Draco's Dangerous Dilemma by Anise    (Reviews - 1418)

All Ginny wants is to get the upper hand just once with drool-worthy hunk of man candy and callous playboy Draco Malfoy before he moves on to his next careless conquest. So how did this simple plan lead to time travel, nefarious plots involving the most infamous whorehouse in the wizarding world, and the teenaged Draco’s achingly sweet, chocolate-flavored kisses? Even Draco Malfoy was innocent once, as Ginny learns all too well…

Chapter ONE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN Quote of the Day:

THE LAST CHAPTER

The minutes ticked by, long enough for Ginny to know that against all reason, all common sense, she still wanted impossible things from him. But she would leave. Even after today, even when her body ached from him and for him, when she could feel that he had begun to shape her to him, she would turn around and leave him. I will, I will, she thought.

“You don’t understand,” said Draco.

“Oh?” Ginny said stiffly. “At least he hadn’t touched her, she thought. She would not be able to find the strength to pull herself away from him, and she knew it.

I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE GOING TO SLEEP TOGETHER WHILE GINNY IS IN ASTORIA'S BODY. It wouldn't be fair to Ginny to have her first time like that! And Draco should have known by that kiss that it wasn't Astoria! And what happened to the bond? isn't he supposed to feel Ginny's presence?

The only thing left to me is to trust your assurance that everything will be all right!

Author's Response: It's okay! EVERYTHING is going to be okay. Just trust me.... truuuuuuuust me..... (passes out more Sleepytime tea.) Everything will be clear in the next 2 chapters, and all questions will be answered (except for the ones about why we can't sneeze with our eyes open... or how to solve a quadratic equation... ;)

That chapter was amazing! The way you made them both struggle with their emotions and responces and their confusion!

Draco's sharp wit has gone on vacation here. He should have realized by now that it couldn't be Astoria, not only because of his responce to her but also because of the way she talks. Though it does look like he feels the answer is near yet out of reach.

Also, it was nice to see that Draco couldn't bear even a hated woman crying though perhaps if she was real Astoria he wouldn't have felt this way.

i can only imagine how he will feel when he finds out it was ginny he was manhandling and hurting.

I really hope the next chapter is up soon.

Author's Response: Thanks! :) You are very perceptive about Draco's inability to recognize Ginny... it's not as simple as it seems. I really do think that Draco shows through his actions here that he can only go so far. He could have solved a lot of problems for himself by disposing of "Astoria", and he could have gotten away with it... but he just couldn't bring himself to do it (and he couldn't have done it with the real Astoria, either.) More soon!

Yes, yes, YES! He finally figured it out!!!!

I'm so happy! I hope now things are going to look up for them!

Author's Response: Draco and Ginny have been waiting for the upcoming night for... a LONG time, let's just say. They do have a few things to work through first, though.

Now, that I've calmed down...

I'm glad it turned out this way because i've half imagined the real Astoria breaking in and then Draco trying to decide which one is Astoria and which one Ginny.

But he had to figure the truth out because even though ginny's acting abilities are all right, still, Astoria is a very self-centered person and Ginny just can't be like that and it is showing in her talks.

Author's Response: Calming down is good. :) Nope, Astoria is done for the night, although she's FAR from through with causing trouble, of course. Ginny just could not keep up the Astoria pretense, and it was finally just too much. But the most intense part is still coming up, trust me... ;)

O.k. I think I'll be put in the Guiness Records for the number of reviews on a single chapter. it's just that I'm usually in a hurry and so I drop a few lines and then I remember that i wanted to say this or that...

Anyway, I was thinking about what Draco revealed about his "relationship" with Astoria and I think that the real Astoria probably does know something about Marie because of her connection to Lucius. Obviously Marie's dissapearance and possibly her entire conduct has something to do with Lucius. So it is plausible that Astoria knows something. poor Draco. He was blackmailed all the time and Astoria is definitely not the person you would want to know your secrets.

Doesn't Draco know of Astoria's connection to Lucius? It seems that he doesn't realize that she acts on his fathers orders.

And not only Ginny wants to know what has Draco learned of Marie in the Continent...

Author's Response: (awards medal... T-shirt... whatever. ;) I like your theories about what Astoria might know. As for Draco, he's like Ginny in that he sometimes only sees what he wants to see. He should have picked up quite a bit more about Astoria's connection to his father than he's managed to do over time... but he hasn't. More (fairly) soon!

I'm glad they had this conversation. draco is opening up to her and that's a very important step in their relationship.

I wish I knew what this ritual will cause Draco.

And I'm really cold so perhaps I'll wright some more later.

Author's Response: Yes, Draco is truly starting to open up-- I think that she is, too. This is something that I feel had to happen between them before they could *finally* get to this point (and believe me, they're definitely here at last.) Turn on the heat and get a blanket!! ;)

o.k. now, that i'm worm and cosy...

I really am very happy that they finally desided to go ahead with it, though the conditions are not ideal and something tells me that perhaps it's still unwise. But who can blame them? there's so much a person can take!

I'm very curious about the ritual naturally. Is something going to go wrong there too (it does seem to happen every time with those two)?

And i think that if he calls her Weasley one more time I'm going to kick him hard!!!!! Really, after everything they've been through?

I might wright you a thank you poem! (Though I've never written a poem in English before...)

Author's Response: Yep, I think that both Draco and Ginny are at the end of their respective ropes here. The tension between them has been built up for SO long that they really can't resist each other anymore, no matter what this might mean. The next couple of chapters... okay, I'm not even going to hint at anything! ;) Anyway, I like the idea of a thank-you poem. :)

Oh, wow! I have trouble forming a comprehensive review.
Amazing! Beautiful! Finally! The chapters we were all waiting for are here!

i loved it though it saddens me that he still can't call her Ginny. At least he stopped himself from calling her Weasley, which is really nice.

This is amazing the way you made their relationship develop. and because you made it slow we could actually see it evolving and changing and growing. We see Draco moving from obsession to actually caring for Ginny as he has more contact with her. It was actually possible to see just what Ginny's traits appeal to draco as he gets to actually know her. And we see Ginny going from denial of her attraction to Draco to passive acceptance and then to actively wanting to be with him, how she believes there's more to him than meets the eye and this is what makes it possible for het to actually see behind his facade. I can go on and on about how this relationship grows.

Another thing - I haven't really understood what the ritual did (beside giving Ginny her body back).

On another matter, about Ginny's visions of Draco in Azkaban. Is this cell were she sees him the same malfoy cell were Lucius is currently residing?

Can't wait for the next chapter, obviously.

Author's Response: Thanks! :) Well, I think we all kind of had to know that Draco wasn't going to be able to get there right away... but the time may come. These two have had to go slowly in so many ways. (And we'll end up learning more about what that ritual really meant, too.) I can't tell you about the Azkaban cell issues right now... but there's a lot more coming up very soon!

It amases me every time that you manage to write those things difeerently each time so that it is not a boring repetition but exiting every time anew.

those last paragraphs made me feal a little uneasy. The reason - although it's nice that they finally got to this point and couldn't wait any longer those paragraphs give me the feeling that the conditions are still not ideal. There are still a lot of unresolved issues between them. the expressions that pass through Draco's face worry me and Ginny, she is ready phisically but probably not so much emotionally . It shows that she is afraid she won't be whole again after Draco takes her. perhaps this fear comes from what happened in the chamber. Still, in a completely healthy stage of a relationship she should feel whole even as another person becomes part of her, yet she doesn't and that is what Part 2 will be about too, i guess, building a healthy relationship where they make each other whole and complete. I hope my rambling made sence.
And it looks like Draco is a bit scared of letting Ginny inside himself like that too.

Oh, next chapter, please come soon...

Author's Response: Thanks! :) We'll find out what that look on Draco's face meant very soon (as will Ginny), and it may surprise you a bit. :) I think you correctly see that they're not where they would be if the end of Part One were the end of the entire book. There are too many unresolved issues between these two for things to reach a conclusion quite yet, no doubt about it. But they've reached a very meaningful place.... Anyway, more soon!

The Wedding Night of Draco and Astoria Malfoy by Anise    (Reviews - 38)

Draco married Astoria, but on their wedding night at the Malfoys’ private island off the coast of the South of France, he dreams only of Ginny. How much fun will that honeymoon be? Don’t freak out! It’s all going to be okay. Take deep breaths… oh, just read it. ;) A three-shot companion piece to Draco’s Dangerous Dilemma, it takes place during the events of Chapter 26.

From Chapter Three:

“You simply don’t understand,” Draco told Ginny. “And you might be a bit more appreciative of the fact that I made that sacrifice for you. I can assure you that seeing Astoria in a white dress and not bursting into laughter immediately was a sacrifice indeed. Then, when I was forced to share air space with that skinny slag in her lingerie-- ouch! What did you do that for?” He snatched his hand back. She’d scratched her nails down his skin.

“You seeing Astoria in lingerie,” Ginny said passionately. “That’s why.”

“It’s not as if I liked it!” Draco shuddered.

Oh, it was really sad!

I like the idea of you posting one (or two-)-shots from other points of view, especially Draco, since his emotions are hard to read. I took some sick pleasure in knowing that he had a bad night after everything he put Ginny through. Though I really pitied him when he cried. Astoria trying to seduce him was very veryVERY disturbing. Yuck! And her charming herself into looking like Ginny was a really cruel torture even though I'm angry with Draco. He didn't need that the poor bloke. I hope she never does it again! How much can a man take?!

I liked that thing with the compartments in Draco's mind and Ginny escaping from hers was really great!

And I had great fun when I read about unicorns laughing hysterically when Astoria wanted to touch them at the rehearsal. I can't take this picture out of my head!

And now to the big questions:
So what was the rush with the wedding anyway? Was it because Draco thought that would be the only way to make sure Astoria shuts her mouth about what she knows about him? And he has to consummate the marriage in 6 month in order to make sure she can't spill anything! I hope everything will be resolved before the 6 months are up!

Also, it's obvious that Astoria knows something really really fishy about Draco! She keeps talking about who he really is, so is he some kind of creature (like he was a demon in "Ninghteen Years Later"?) or does it have to do with his relation to Loki? Or was she talking about his character and not something mysterious?

Oh, and what is that crap with Draco wanting Ginny to remain pure even though he thinks he could never have her? Is he actually going to make shure no man has her even though he can't also? It's kind of cruel to her - "I can't have you but no one else will too!") and a very selfish thing to do. He doesn't appear to care about her happiness. Or is it just that he hopes he can be with her some day?

Well, I'm waiting impatiently for more of this and for the part 2 of DDD and everything else! Thank you thank you as allways!

Author's Response: This fic is really kind of sad... :( I think so too. Draco is very hard to read for a lot of DDD; he doesn't open up until Part 3 or so (and that's a LONG way from here. Part 2 hasn't even started yet.) So that's why the idea of a companion fic appealed to me. Let's see... okay, I'm going to answer a couple of questions. Astoria knows some things about the worst parts of Draco's character that he really doesn't want Ginny to know. He isn't a demon in this fic, or anything like that. Draco is very obsessive about Ginny, and we'll learn more about that in Chapter Two of this fic (but also more about her response to it.) And you KNOW that he hasn't given up on wanting to be with her!

And I'm very very sad today because my cat died... :( So I will console myself with D/G fic.

Finally the second chapter! And we get a DDD update soon too? Yay!

Well, this chapter was quite dark! I really felt sorry for Draco, he's always left to deal with aftereffects of one thing or another! And his longing for Ginny seems quite unbearable. Then again, his whole obsession with Ginny is kind of childish, like a 5 year old craving a special toy.

His belief that Ginny can purify him is interesting and I actually think she can, or rather she can help him purify himself, but not exactly in the physical sence as he thinks of it. I am thinking more of the fact that after all she will be able to accept him with all his darkness and she will help him to bring to surface all that's locked in the compartments of his mind and deal with it, and accept himself and she can convince him that he has the ability to love and to change, and that's what can purify him. My imagination really runs wild these days. But he obviously needs to undergo some transformations and I don't think he can do this alone. And of course, Ginny has to sort herself out first (is that what we are going to see in part 2 of DDD?).

I still hope the wholemess will be sorted out before the 6 months of D/A marriage are up so he won't have to consummate the marriage and it will be dissolved.

About Draco's dreams: We know now that both D and G were obliviated at some point. Coul some glimpses of Draco;s dream here be actual memories? Could it be that Ginny actually was there that summer after D's seventh year? Creepy. Ad that part were Draco stumbles upon situation that is featured in Ginny's dreams about the chamber and Tom/Lucius is also creepy and raises quite a lot more questions about that whole memory loss - dream thing.

Oh, and I really really liked the ending were Ginny opens her eyes and says: "You don't own me".

I don't know whether it's in your plans but I thought that perhaps it would be interesting at some point of DDD to have a companion one-shot from Lucius's point of view explaining that new race of dominant purebloods thing he was trying to cook.
Thank you again!

Author's Response: This entire fic is pretty dark, but what I wanted to do was to show what's going on in Draco's head at this point in the fic. And that's really dark. He's at a very low point. Draco and Ginny could help each other, but they both have a long way to go first. The story of the rest of the D/A marriage is going to be interesting... and we WILL get to learn a lot more about it. ;) I have a hard time seeing Ginny actually having been at Malfoy Manor duriing the summer after Draco's sixth year, which was the time period of this dream, but after his seventh year... well, that might be a different story...and the Tom/Lucius scene says a lot about what Lucius Malfoy was actually doing so that he could keep appearing in Ginny's dreams during the years after she was actually in the Chamber.

I really like the idea about the companion one-shot from Lucius's POV!! He may tell me all about it... ;) His ideas about the pureblood race are very important, and in this version of the fic, I'm having a hard time really explaining them in detail. It always ends up sounding like I'm just sticking them in there. Anyway, more soon...

O.K. in all the exitement over a new chapter I forgot about Astoria. But then don't we all want to forget about Astoria?
Anyway, I was wondering after the first chapter what does Astoria gain from this marriage that she is willing to put up with Draco? I know she's after money but I don't think it's only that. I mean there are other wealthy wizards out there. So there has to be something more. Is she a follower of Lucius's plans? She had something with Lucius obviously - she knows a lot (by "something" I don't mean a relationship).

Also I think this whole ordeal with Draco and Astoria having to get married has something to do with Marie. I think it was hinted somehow.

And sorry for any spelling or grammar errors in my reviews. English is not my native language.

Author's Response: Astoria is an interesting character here, and she actually ended up with a larger role in the fic than she was originally going to get. I can't reveal everything about her motivations, because that would give too much away that can't be revealed until WAY later in the fic. However, the Greengrasses are an old pureblood family with very little money left, so that's a big benefit she gets out of the marriage. Also, she's been chasing Draco for years and everyone in their circle knows this, so she saves face by marrying him. And she does have some complicated things going on with Lucius Malfoy. She's a very annoying, shallow, and bitchy person, but after knowing more about her past with the Malfoys, I have to say that I do feel a little sorry for her. You're doing very well with spelling and grammar in your reviews! :) I took four years of Spanish in high school and two in college, and I'd be lucky to be able to put together one sentence now. Sad.

Aha, Loki makes an appearance and he's very much like the Loki in MMoM here, isn't he? Only he's not really helpful. We'll just have to wait for his other appearances.

That dream at the beginning was very VERY interesting and I feel I don't understand even half of it! I suppose it features the fact that Draco thinks that he is rescuing Ginny from some terrible fate (of which we only have partial information) by his self-sacrifiyng marriage, but Ginny clearly is set to free herself on her own and I like the fact that she kind of showed him a way for himself too (when he contemplates her decision to wake up and desides to do something along the lines too).

There was an interesting part were Draco pictures himself a hero of sorts and I'm actually glad that Ginny in the dreams isn't falling for it! Ilike that Draco realises he can't own Ginny. He also seems to begin to realize that there's more to her than what he pictured in his mind.

There's the whole thing with Draco's heart again and Ginny holding the key to it. I hope it means he will find love in there.

We sawacreepy part of Draco where he contemplaits having a dark binding spell on Ginny so that she'll have to seek him out (did Loki appear at that particular moment to prevent him from doing it?). I'm really happy he didn't go through with it.

And I really really like the ending where Draco finally shows some start of inner growth because his obsession was becoming really annoying.

I suppose the 2 part of DDD will be about Ginny's journey to maturity of character. It will be fascinating to see what she'll be up to. Perhaps someof it will be concentrating on her art (I can totally see Draco anonymously purchasing her works at outrageous prices and keeping them locked in some secret room away from Astoria's dirty hands). Can't wait for DDD!

Ido hope we'll have some Ginny - Astoria interaction where Ginny has the upper hand of course (preferrably publicly embarrasing Astoria).

Author's Response: Thank you, as always! :) Yes, Loki is definitely a supporting character here. I wouldn't say that he has a *lot* of screen time, but he's going to make the most of what he has. I think that both Draco and Ginny need to change a lot in order for them to even have a chance at a real relationship (actually, one of my D/G pet peeves is when they don't change, but get thrown together anyway.) I'm not even sure who has more work to do, but Draco clearly has a LOT further to go in terms of his understanding of other people, especially Ginny. He's definitely learned to be cruel from Lucius, and he has to break free of this if there can ever be a D/G here. Good theories about Part 2... some of them are very good... ;) And DDD will start up again soon!

I'm reading your story from the beginning but I don't think I left a review. I just want to say I really like it and am waiting to see how the story unfolds. Ginny's guilt might make her more subdued now and It is going to be interesting to know all about Kora. Keep up your great work!

Author's Response: We will find a tiny bit about Kora soon. Thank you for your review!

A Marriage of Convenience by ClairdeLune    (Reviews - 172)

The post-war world is hardly the utopia it claims to be. Freedom is an illusion, and getting into the good graces of those with power takes precedence over morals. In this unhappy world, can Ginny, forced into a marriage of convenience, find happiness? And does she know the people around her as well as she thinks?

Oh, this chapter was too short. And now I really want to know what happens next!

Author's Response: Hmm, yeah, it is short, but I couldn't make it longer without making it seem unrealistic. I'm glad you're anticipating the next chapter :D
