At three in the morning, Draco turns off the sign on top of his cab and pulls into the parking lot of the pancake house. He sees her small figure tucked into a seat in the corner table. It sends a pang of something like fear through him when he gets an inkling of just how happy he is to see her.
Ginny slides into a molded plastic seat. “I’m hungry. Want to split some pancakes?”
She eats ravenously when they arrive, tearing apart the pats of butter in their foil wrapping, ripping the cover off the sealed plastic pouches of syrup. “I shouldn’t have coffee this late. I’ll never get to sleep. I never do before five or six anyway, so I guess it doesn’t matter.”
This casual Ginny. Flippant. She does not want him to feel sorry for her. She will not accept his pity. He admires her. He wonders just how many Ginnys there are. He wants to meet them all. That scares him, too.

Somewhere half way through this chapter i caught my self thinking “may be they just had ostracized from the wizarding society, may be magic still there but just not for them”.. But then i read that there are no Muggles or Wizards so that notion was squashed We just will have to wait for you to tell us what ahs happened and why Ginny is in the better poison by the looks of it then the rest of them?
Author's Response: Thanks! :) I know, this is a mysterious question (as far as who won and why the magic is gone, why wizards ended up in the position they have), but it's kind of the foundation of the whole plotline. I think that the answer will be surprising... but I'm hoping that it makes sense once readers see what it is.

I don't know, sometimes I HAVE thought about a shorter fic based on the part that JotH that never got to, which was Ginny in the harem of Istanbul. You never know...

Author's Response: Yes, Harry is dead. but they didn't exactly run away. There will be more about this in chapter 6, and as for why someone is after them... I can't say, but again, it will become clear eventually! My fics generally do have a happy ending of sorts. At the very least, everything will come to a satisfactory end. I will write the Draco's POV for Pretend eventually. :)
