Ginny is a reporter for the Daily Prophet and needs an interesting story to get her onto the front page. Draco Malfoy, serving a life sentence in Azkaban, is suddenly up for re-trial. Could this be Ginny's big break? Or could it lead her on a path of lies, betrayal and revenge?Category: Works in Progress
A very intriguing and promising beginning. I am hooked already and will definitely be keeping an eye out for updates. It sounds like a really original and interesting story.
Good luck with the next chapters!
Author's Response: Thank you very much for reviewing. I hope I keep you hooked until the end. :D
After something as trivial as a book destroyed Ginny Weasley's innocence, she finds that other books in themselves could work as the catalyst in bringing herself and the unimaginable Draco Malfoy together.Category: Works in Progress
I'm very intrigued by the first chapter of this story and have a personal soft spot for "D/G as young kids" fics even though I realise that's only the starting point.
I also like your choice of less common and cliche stories. Just as a random note, Draco's admiration for the tailor reminds me of an episode of How I Met Your Mother where Barney tells his friends that while watching the Karate Kid he sympathises with the 'blond kid' who later loses :P
Anyway, I am definitely excited and curious to read more!
“Let go!” I wail, pulling back from him with a frustrated cry. “I’ve got detention with Carrow and I can’t be late! Please just let go of me!”Category: Long and CompletedHe immediately releases me, his expression suddenly darkening. “Oh.” It’s all he can say. We both know what those detentions really are.
Ginny Weasley’s sixth year at Hogwarts is not at all what she expected. Harry’s gone to do something dangerous again, Death Eaters are teachers, and the cruciatus curse is a favorite punishment for misbehaving students… and blood-traitors. Dark but humorous, riddled with both angst and fluff, the events of Deathly Hallows told from Ginny’s point of view without the epilogue.

Endless thanks for the beta-ing to Jaden Malfoy.
This was my absolute favourite story of the last dgficexchange and one of the ones which really stands out in my mind. I was so happy to discover that you were the author and was really rooting for you to win Best Story!
I absolutely loved loved loved the whole journey and I've since re-read the whole story from start to finish a few more times, slowly savouring it each time. It's just such a beautiful progression from tentative friendship to desperately in love in a very believable 'while Harry was away searching for Horcruxes' setting.
Huge props to you and I hope you participate in many more ficexchanges/contests to come! There's a Time-Turner based challenge which sounds like it'd be very very interesting and I would love to see how you dealt with that 'prompt'. Link here: http://community.livejournal.com/ginnylovesdraco/14950.html
Looking forward to more and more :)
Author's Response: Oh thank you! I truly loved the exchange and enjoyed it SO much! I'll definately see if I can participate in future fic exchanges and check out the time-turner one too! Thank you so much for liking the story!
I know I've already reviewed here & at the actual exchange but I wanted to say another couple of things which popped into my mind when I read some of the other reviews.
1. Ginny being a bit of a victim
I agree that at first she does come off that way a bit what with Draco swooping in to save her several times but I think that's only one type of bravery. Her ability to put up with the treatment without giving Carrow much satisfaction, trying to fight back where she could and also not having a nervous breakdown or going insane is really testament to her inner strength. Basically I think you did a fine job of showing that Ginny is not in fact weak and I liked that Draco offering support and comfort was something that brought the two together but was also a mutual thing - like when you note that he's happier when she's safe and happy with him.
2. Draco being a bit OOC
I can see how he can come off as being strangely nice to Ginny but I think that in the confines of this fic it actually works fine. I'm sure we'd all love to know about his 'reform' but I don't think it's necessary at all. To me, the premise of your fic wasn't 'Ginny turns Draco good' but more 'Draco and Ginny have an encounter which develops and becomes so much more'. I like that a lot and it feels more believable to me than some of the fics where Ginny somehow turns Draco along the straight and narrow. I also appreciate that you had to make Draco's behaviour fit at least in part with what we know of his encounter with Harry & Co. and thought you dealt with that incredibly well. Also, it wouldn't be possible to have a story which told you every single detail about a character's development and I like to think there's unexplored back-story as to why/how Draco changed from the time of Dumbledore's death to when Ginny runs into him in the story. I think he definitely experienced enough life-changing stuff to get him at least part of the way to where he is now.
Basically what I'm saying is that I think you did a fantastic job of interpreting the characters and situation in a way which made it very uniquely your own while still staying faithful to JK's original conception of them.
Huge huge kudos to you and you know I am excited to read more from you!
Author's Response: Wow, you are like my reviewing buddy :) Thank you SO much for your comments and insight. I'm truly grateful that you were able to see those two points in such a positive light because that is how I originally thought of them myself. Thank you so much for your reading and reviewing of this fic multiple times now. I'm quite grateful and honored.
Ginny Weasley was on a mission: get Draco Malfoy's attention or die trying. She would prefer to skip the dying part, though…Category: Long and Completed

Thus far I'm really enjoying reading this take on D/G. I love Hogwarts-era fics because the D/G interaction makes sense and I like that you haven't just taken the easy option by shoving them in the same class or some equally lazy plot point.
I love Ginny as the stalker/obsessed one in the relationship although I hope of course that Draco soon begins developing just as much interest in her. I hate one-sided fics because I just want to yell at the other person to pay attention!
I find Ginny to be a very sympathetic character at the moment and very easy to relate to. I love her DIY makeover failing because I think it's much more realistic than the 'OMG, Ginny turned into a Sex Goddess overnight' fics.
Basically I'm trying to say - a job well done and I definitely look forward to reading more of Ginny's (mis)adventures in her courtship of (oblivious) Draco!
Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying it. I always feel that if I'm going to write a Hogwarts fic (something I don't do very much) then I might as well try to make it work with what I know from the actual books. Hence, this particular story has a lot of GoF references, as that is the time when this story is set. I also try to base the characters around that, but Ginny is a little crazy, I'll admit.
The prompt actually called for stalker/obsessed Ginny. Well, not quite. The actual words were to just have her trying to get his attention in amusing ways, so Draco has no choice but to be oblivious, but you can be sure that he will notice her eventually. There would be no romance otherwise. As for Ginny herself, I'm glad you find her sympathetic. I wanted her to be young and a little ridiculous. The makeover idea was actually more me having a laugh at all those kind of fics (nothing makes me click the back button faster than a 'Ginny-has-a-makeover-and-everyone-now-loves-her' story. I'll confess that I like to poke fun at things, including my characters.
Anyway, the next chapter should be up soon. I don't plan to take too long uploading this fic.
When a dark artifact is stolen from Gringotts, Auror Ginny Weasley finds herself with a brand new partner to help her investigate. What was once myth and legend becomes all too real as Ginny and Draco discover the truth about the case - and one another.Category: Works in Progress
I found this to be a very enjoyable starting chapter for what sounds like a very interesting ride for our two intrepid heroes.
I like the hints about their past and very curious to see how it all develops. I'm especially excited about the mystery plot - I like my stories to have more than just romance!
I look forward to reading more from you soon (I hope!)

Draco takes his time cleaning her cut. He watches intently as the rust-colored blood disappears, leaving only the ruddy tone of her skin. He dips the cloth in warm water again, and rubs gently at her forehead until the wound is clean, and she looks like Ginny again.Category: Completed Short Stories
I thought this little fic was absolutely adorable. I loved the role-reversal of Draco as the Healer-type and Ginny as the one needing care. Loved it!
