Hello there! I've only started to write fan fiction as of a couple of years ago, but writing has always been a substantial part of my life. I love it, and it is something I'm always striving to get better at. Happy reading!

Political Animals by Aquinnah    (Reviews - 62)

Working for the Department of Mysteries teaches Draco Malfoy many things: Play the man. Everyone lies. Collateral damage is inevitable. But when he's the man being played and Ginny Weasley becomes collateral damage - well, you know what they say. All's fair in love, war, and hard and dirty politics.

A very intriguing start. I love the twists on the HP world that you've set up - the surveillance of portkey terminals, the wizards with a sixth sense, etc. Draco's obvious regard for Ginny is also quite endearing. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. Was trying to go for a dystopian wizarding future so it's a start, at least. My biggest worry was that I would try and adapt too much from Muggle London. But I'm looking forward to writing it for sure, thank you very much for your kind words and time.

A Jolly Interlude by Boogum    (Reviews - 11)

In which Draco is snarky, Ginny is flustered, and Christmas is celebrated ... kind of.

He looks at the star like it is poison. Then he looks at the redhead like she is poison.
"No," he says flatly.
"But, Malfoy—"
"No. I am not helping you decorate that tree."

Well you know I already left you a review on ffnet, but since this was a gift-fic for me, I thought it only fitting that I should leave you a note here as well. :)

This story was LOVE. You are stellar at turning angsty-looking prompts into a well-written snarky and cute tale. (Your Fallen Snow Angels was one of my BotD favorites). Thank you again for the lovely story, Kim!

Author's Response: Hehe, thank you. I have this weird thing that when a prompt says 'angst', I think "no, fluff". Must be that contrary nature of mine.

In any case, thanks for reviewing again. ^_^

Don't sell yourself short! I loved LOVED Meet Me at the Center. It was in my tip top favorites for the round and from the whole BotD altogether. I loved how you incorporated that prominent 'center' aspect of the picture prompt. I think yours and one other were the only two to do so. I tried to as well at first but couldn't think of anything really interesting so I just avoided it altogether. x.x And as a drabble, I think yours quintessentially nailed saying so much in so few words. I was immediately drawn in by the first few lines and absolutely enjoyed how you portrayed Draco and developed him in that first drabble - that aspect about finding himself was a wonderful inclusion. And I loved the ending line of your second though that reveal about Harry left me wishing a beat down on him. It left me wondering about Ginny too and what was going on with her as the scheme unfolded. That word limit was a killer, wasn't it?

Author's Response: !!! YES. The word limit was teeth-gnashing. (Note to self: visit dentist.) Thank you so much. :) There was so much more to say about Harry's actions in the 2nd drabble, but no way to get any of it in. Ginny's decision too. Well, maybe SOMEDAY I'll expand some more on that one... (BTW, I WILL answer your email today.) 'll

I liked your hair pun too. Loved the various bits of humor sprinkled through out that drabble as well. It was an enjoyable little read. I would also love to read an expansion of that second one. I particularly liked the ending lines in it that contrasted their past with the aftermath like: "...she felt his arms close around her with only a ghost of their old strength." Made for a very vivid image.

Nice first smut attempt and I liked your Ginny's smirk and confidence at the end. I was intrigued by the inclusion of D/G offspring in your summary - was that just an accident or did you mean a little Weasley-Malfoy was conceived out of this? ;) If so, I think reading about the repercussions would be fun. *hint hint*

Author's Response: It was just an accident, but yes, now I must make up for it by coming up with a little one shot about anything that may have come from this meeting.

Already reviewed this over at ffnet, but wanted to give you another one anyway for that extra push to continue this to at least a two-shot. ;) I would love to read their final session together and a meeting or a collection of their meetings after that outside of the professional setting here. Again, loved your writing, the setup, and the execution. And I totally knew Draco's first question would be about her sex life - a very Draco-thing to ask I feel. Haha. More please!

Author's Response: You're wonderful, Sunny. Thanks for all of your words of encouragement. I really would love to continue this, so hopefully the inspiration strikes me soon enough :P.

You forgot to warn for addiction! :P

I loled at the image of Ginny and Hermione drunk together in the first one. Would love to read how that one plays out!

Beautiful imagery in the second and nice extended metaphor. I especially loved the description of the daughter's eyes as "snow-bearing clouds".

Loved, loved the third. Very nice choice of line to end the piece and sum it up.

Author's Response: Thanks, Sunny! For the second drabble, I wish I knew where that writing came from because I feel like I can't do it anymore. :P The "snow-bearing clouds" descriptor is one of my favorites, so I'm glad you picked up on it! As for the last drabble, I'm a fan of those lines that sum up the whole story or make the title relevant. I think they're especially important in small stories like these. They don't always happen for me, but when they do, I'm particularly satisfied with the drabble. n_n

I wondered about The Quest when I first read it, if it was meant more metaphorically or as a literal event. In the HP world, it could be both. The second drabble, Politicking, was really fun to read - nice bit of DG sexual tension and banter and humor mixed in. I loved that you called the election "The Scar verses the Smirk". Haha.

Author's Response: I meant it metaphorically, maybe as a dream or a vision, but it can be interpreted in any way. I think you're right that in the HP world it could be a literal event! That would actual make a cool story... Maybe as a longer one-shot. I'm glad you enjoyed the drabbles! Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I loved your hair drabble and the pun. So fitting. Lol. And the bit at the end - I've noticed that you are great at evoking sexual tension.

In Fallen, I found the image of a mad Ginny with her sing-song voice pretty haunting. The ending line was particularly striking.

Author's Response: I can't remember if the title of All's Hair came first or the story. I'm just glad they worked so well together! I'm glad to hear that you like the sexual tension! I've noticed that many of my one-shots end with it, so I always fear that when I write it it will come off as stale. As for Fallen, Ginny's meant to be Draco's haunting reminder, so I'm glad you found her haunting as well! Thank you for reading and reviewing!

Man, these were a roller coaster in emotions.

What was Trapped written for? I'm left with a million questions. I hate what's become of her in that one and at the same time I really want to know what was up with the whole ordeal. How did she get to that point?

War was great - I'm not a fan of smut for smut sake, but here you paired it well with emotions so that wasn't the case at all. Some nice imagery in that one too like "leaves rustled like faded souls".

Loved the ending line of a dream realized, though of course I always find it more satisfying when death isn't the reason for her relationship with Harry ending.

And finally: /Did he feel sorry for ruining her fun? Of course not. She was a terrible singer, and really, glowering was what she did best./ -Lol.

Author's Response: Trapped actually wasn't written for anything. During my first forum fic exchange, One of my prompts called for a dark fic, and instead of waiting around to see if someone wrote it for me, I went ahead and wrote it myself. As I was telling Marinka, I didn't really think about the story beyond Draco being horrible and no one believing Ginny, but I did see her as being tricked into the marriage somehow. So they never loved each other; Draco just wanted the power over her. :( How that happened or why, I haven't the foggiest.

Re: your comment about A Dream Realized--My favorite DG has Ginny comin to her senses about dating Harry. In my head canon, there is no way she and Harry would have worked out post-Hogwarts, and Ginny would have been the one disatisfied with their relationship. :)

I'm glad you liked the drabbles! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

The Girl With the Taxi Driver by Anise    (Reviews - 49)

The war is over, and so is Draco Malfoy's world. He has run as far as he can, and now, as a taxi driver in a world that has no more magic, he has come to the end of the line... or so he thinks. But when he finds the former Ginny Weasley, he learns just how many mysteries remain to be solved... and how much hope can still be found.

Chapter SEVEN quote of the day:

At three in the morning, Draco turns off the sign on top of his cab and pulls into the parking lot of the pancake house. He sees her small figure tucked into a seat in the corner table. It sends a pang of something like fear through him when he gets an inkling of just how happy he is to see her.

Ginny slides into a molded plastic seat. “I’m hungry. Want to split some pancakes?”

She eats ravenously when they arrive, tearing apart the pats of butter in their foil wrapping, ripping the cover off the sealed plastic pouches of syrup. “I shouldn’t have coffee this late. I’ll never get to sleep. I never do before five or six anyway, so I guess it doesn’t matter.”

This casual Ginny. Flippant. She does not want him to feel sorry for her. She will not accept his pity. He admires her. He wonders just how many Ginnys there are. He wants to meet them all. That scares him, too.

Ooh I am definitely very intrigued indeed. Such a unique setup for a DG story too. You've given us lots of interesting questions to wonder about with this opening.

Another standout is the strong sense of place in this first chapter evoked through your rich incorporation of details. I often wished I knew England as well to do the same for my DG stories - research alone can't beat first-hand familiarity with a place. That combined with your descriptive strength as writer really brought the setting here to life.

I'm also loving how you're characterizing Draco, and look forward to seeing where you're going to go with this. Do you know yet if this is going to be a 'shorter' multi-chapter or one of your longer epics?

Author's Response: Thanks! :) This was one of those fics where I knew right away that the setting was going to be very important. I don't know exactly why... that's one of the mysteries of how a story comes to be, I think... Anyway, I don't really see this as turning out to be ridiculously long, but it won't be too short, either. I'm guessing about ten chapters.

/He crossed his arms and glared at her. “I'm free to see whoever I please.”/ -pwahaha, loved it!

Author's Response: LOL! awesome! I'm not surprised that someone else might have considered a similar take on this. I seemed to be seeing so many "G & D start out as friends" stories, that I was getting sick of the plot line. There was so little variety there, especially if they included Ron, that I couldn't resist twisting it around a bit. Glad you like it! :) And, btw, you are the second person to pick out that same quote from Ron - I think Ron was channeling his inner Malfoy. :D Thanks again.

I saw that you were taking on the pirate prompt and was looking forward to reading it, expecting a fun read and you didn't disappoint. In particular, you knocked the prompt's request for saucy dialogue and pirate speak out of the park. Thought you might have taken an entirely AU approach to this, but it was fun too to find out that it was all magically-aided day dreaming on Draco's part. Haha. I wouldn't mind reading a continuation to the setup here either. ;) Great job!

Author's Response: I'm not going to lie, I went above and beyond the call of duty to research pirate speak. I was all about some pirate speak for a few days. u_u I'm glad it worked out, though, because it's pretty awkward to write, and it's hard to tell if I'm using piratey words correctly because no one talks like that anymore. I plaaaan to add at least one more part to the story, but I have to finish my fic for the DG Forum's summer challenge and finish posting my other two incomplete stories before I do that. Plus, I want to watch some Pirates of the Caribbean to get in the pirate spirit. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for reviewing. n_n

Of Sun Breaks and Salacious Delights by Anise    (Reviews - 145)

+++

Ginny fled the wizarding world when betrayal, deception, and heartbreak tore apart her life. A year later, she lives and works as a Muggle-- and the co-owner of Athena's Saucy Shoppe of Salacious Delights. But she's about to learn that it isn't so easy to leave the past behind... especially when it comes packaged in the person of Draco Malfoy.

Chapter TWENTY Quote of the Day:

Ginny tried again, deciding that it was time for her glowering blond companion to help her out whether he wanted to not.

“It’s so great to catch up with old friends, Draco. Don’t you think?” She jabbed Draco lightly in the ribs under cover of darkness.

Draco clamped his hand around her waist like a band of iron. Oh, no, Ginny thought despairingly. This was not going well.

"She's mine alone,” said Draco.

"But she's got other customers, right?" asked Theo.

"She is not to be shared,” said Draco. “I… ah… don't share my toys. You ought to remember that, Nott.”

"But if she's no more than a toy, then it shouldn't matter." Nott's expression was turning crafty. Suddenly, Ginny had a very, very bad feeling about what might happen next.

“Seems as if you shouldn’t mind sharing Ginny with me, don’t you think, Malfoy? After all we’ve been through together? You know what I mean, don’t you?”

If there was an author who could do this prompt justice, it'd be you. ;) Really intriguing start here. You're very good at inserting all these points of interest for the plot right from the get go. Can't wait for chapter 2 to see how these two interact and what answers we'll get. I'm also loving your choice of name for the shop - Saucy Shoppe of Salacious Delights just rolls right off the tongue.

Author's Response: Thanks! I did a lot of work on this fic today, AND a few pieces of art for it... sigh... they started out looking so nice and innocent, and then, well, it kind of all went to hell once Draco and Ginny ended up in the dungeon *underneath* Athena's... Anyway, more soon! :)
